Buyer seeks a qualified non-profit organization to provide administrative support and planning coordination for the Woodlands Partnership of Northwest Massachusetts. The contract includes completing a National Heritage Area Designation Feasibility Study, assisting with implementation of the Partnership Plan, providing staffing support, and securing insurance for the Board. The contract will be for three years with potential for two one-year extensions.

  • Experience with grant writing and natural resources management
  • Experience working with rural, forested communities
  • Complete National Heritage Area Designation Feasibility Study
  • Coordinate with National Park Service for NHA designation
  • Create/pilot Woodlands Partnership Forest Center
  • Coordinate forest conservation projects with private landowners
  • Implement grant projects supporting WP Plan goals
  • Enhance economic development related to tourism and forestry
  • Develop outreach and educational projects
  • Create revolving loan program for natural resource businesses
  • Pilot forest viability program
  • Support projects of local Indigenous Tribes
  • Provide staffing support to the Board
  • Coordinate Board meetings and subcommittee meetings
  • Prepare meeting agendas and secure meeting spaces
  • Provide meal service for Board meetings
  • Handle public meeting notifications and minutes
  • Secure appropriate insurance for the Board
  • Coordinate with U.S. Forest Service
  • Launch demonstration and research forests
  • Apply for grants and implement funding opportunities
  • Provide regular project updates and annual reports
