Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities

Buyer seeks innovative proposals that address one of four priority areas: Education and Early Intervention, Employment, Formal and Informal Community Supports, or Health. Projects should support promising ideas, expand best practices, improve services, and facilitate capacity building for Alabamians with developmental disabilities. Buyer aims to promote independence, advocacy, productivity, and inclusion for people with developmental disabilities. The project must collect data showing evidence of success and use technology to reach Alabama citizens.

  • Create inclusive educational opportunities across the lifespan
  • Implement employment best practices for people with developmental disabilities
  • Educate employers about hiring people with developmental disabilities
  • Build partnerships with local communities to provide outreach and information
  • Develop solutions to decrease access barriers in rural areas
  • Create healthcare training opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Provide disaster/emergency preparedness education and resources
  • Collect data to show evidence of project success
  • Use technology to reach Alabama citizens
