Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services

Buyer seeks engineering firms to provide flood mitigation and dam safety program services under a Basic Ordering Agreement. Services will support buyer's participation in the National Federal Insurance Program, flood mitigation, monitoring, dam safety, and other engineering services. The agreement will be established for one twelve-month period with potential renewal for three additional twelve-month periods. Tasks will be requested and authorized on a task order basis.

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for floodplain analysis and mapping
  • Support FEMA programs including NFIP, CRS, and CTP
  • Process Letter of Map Revisions (LOMRs) and Conditional LOMRs (CLOMRs)
  • Provide geotechnical services with dam design and maintenance expertise
  • Develop and conduct dam safety drills and tabletop exercises
  • Create and maintain Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for dams
  • Perform dam inspections, monitoring, and stability analyses
  • Develop emergency response plans for flood-prone areas
  • Conduct land surveys, bathymetric surveys, and prepare elevation certificates
  • Delineate wetlands and acquire necessary permits for construction
  • Design green infrastructure and stormwater management systems
  • Provide GIS-related services including development of geoprocessing tools
  • Evaluate alternatives for neighborhood improvement projects
  • Prepare and conduct presentations at public meetings during non-business hours
  • Support dam safety capital projects for design, repair, and maintenance
