Buyer seeks a Project Manager to support disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts following a tornado that caused $1.6 billion in damages. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all recovery efforts related to businesses, housing, and economic activity. Buyer is looking for an individual or firm with experience in disaster recovery to coordinate with stakeholders, establish programs, and manage rebuilding initiatives. The contract will be for two years with possible extensions.

  • Extensive experience managing complex projects, at least 3 years as lead Project Manager
  • Experience in natural disaster recovery or significant negative economic event
  • Project Manager must locate in St. Louis and be available weekdays
  • Exceptional communication skills and leadership abilities
  • Experience working with Board of Directors and governmental agencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and knowledge of GIS tools
  • Experience in financing, construction, real estate, and public infrastructure
  • Experience in grant writing and management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all recovery and rebuilding efforts
  • Research successful practices from other disaster recovery efforts
  • Develop short, medium, and long-term recovery solutions
  • Coordinate with City departments, agencies, and stakeholder groups
  • Lead community engagement coordination
  • Develop budgeting and financing strategies for selected solutions
  • Assist with grant applications and grant management
  • Present to boards, officials, and stakeholder groups
  • Manage programs for selected recovery solutions
  • Procure and manage contractors and consultants as needed
