Buyer seeks engineering services for screening bridge capacity for overload permits statewide. The work involves evaluating highway bridges' load capacity for issuing overweight vehicle permits. • Lead Evaluation Engineer must have NY State P.E. license
• Assistant Evaluation Engineers must have BS in Civil Engineering
• Experience with structural design and load rating of bridges
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, HOOCS, and GIS preferred
• Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design and Load Rating software

• Review overweight permit applications by identifying bridges along routes
• Evaluate bridge load carrying capacity for permit vehicles
• Provide approval/denial recommendations for permits
• Review structural calculations for Superloads
• Perform structural analysis for bridges without available load ratings
• Provide load rating and overweight permit training
• Assist with developing load rating standards
• Use GIS applications for route identification
• Calculate Permit Vehicle Load Effects using BigTruk software
• Prepare monthly progress reports
