Public Health Officer for Clatsop County

Clatsop County Department of Public Health

Buyer seeks a contracted Public Health Officer to fulfill Oregon statutory requirements. The position requires 10-15 hours monthly, working under the Local Public Health Administrator. The officer will be responsible for medical and paramedical aspects of public health programs, including oversight of protocols, laboratory direction, emergency response, and clinical consultation.

• Licensed under ORS Chapter 677 to practice medicine in Oregon

• Develop and sign standing orders, clinical protocols and communicable disease guidance
• Serve as Laboratory Director and Pharmacy Director
• Provide consultation on immunizations, STI screening, and infectious diseases
• Participate in disaster preparedness planning and emergency response
• Sign-off on quarantine or isolation orders
• Support medical countermeasure activities
• Provide clinical consultation for TB and communicable disease management
• Serve as Health Advisor during public health emergencies
• Represent Department to Board of County Commissioners
• Participate in CLHO Health Officers' Caucus monthly meetings
• Serve on Local Ambulance Services Advisory Committee as voting member
• Oversee bioterrorism preparation activities
