Buyer is requesting proposals from qualified CPA firms to audit its financial statements for fiscal years ending September 30, 2025 through September 30, 2029. The contract is for five years subject to annual review and renewal. Buyer is the second largest road commission in Michigan, serving twenty-one townships and more than 670,000 residents. Buyer maintains nearly 2,000 centerline miles, over 160 bridges, and over 430 state and interstate highway miles.

- 7/22/2025 - Contract Award Date
- 12/1/2025 - Records Ready for Audit
- 1/31/2026 - Final Audit Report Due
- Must be independent of Kent County Road Commission
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan
- Must have experience with governmental audit practice
- Must submit most recent Peer Review Report
- Audit financial statements in accordance with GAAS and Government Auditing Standards
- Express opinion on fair presentation of KCRC's financial statements
- Potentially perform Single Audit if required
- Potentially perform MDOT performance audit pursuant to PA 298 of 2012
- Complete audit by January 31st each year
- Coordinate with Finance Division on accounting tasks
- Work with Precision Road Software (transitioning to Acumatica in FY26)
- Present final audit report to Board of Road Commissioners
- Adhere to standards set by GASB, AICPA, GFOA
- Provide hourly rate structure for potential additional work
