Buyer seeks a qualified and experienced audit firm to provide Internal Auditing Services for three fiscal years with a possible two-year extension option. Services include conducting annual risk assessments, performing targeted internal process reviews, and making recommendations for improving internal controls. The work will cover fiscal years ending June 30, 2026 through 2028, with optional extensions through 2030. Buyer is a school district with approximately 4,317 students across 8 schools and 850 employees.

• Municipal and school district auditing experience
• Staff must have continuing professional education (CPE) requirements
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Available for accounting advice and counsel throughout contract

• Conduct annual risk assessments as directed by the Board of Education
• Make recommendations for improving internal control
• Identify and conduct one targeted internal process review annually
• Make recommendations regarding areas for internal audit work
• Follow regulations of the Commissioner of Education
• Attend Audit Committee meetings to present audit reports
• Provide work papers retention for minimum of three years
• Make working papers available upon request
• Respond to inquiries of successor Internal Auditor
• Review internal control system and previous findings
• Maintain professional liability insurance coverage
• Collaborate with district management on process reviews
• Prepare detailed reports of audit findings
• Identify potential risks in district operations
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive district information
• Review existing internal controls for effectiveness
• Submit clear documentation of all findings
• Evaluate compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Assess the efficiency of district financial processes
• Coordinate with external auditors as needed
