Buyer seeks to contract an experienced sworn law enforcement peace officer to serve as a Law Enforcement Liaison for Southern Minnesota. The contractor will promote participation in Office of Traffic Safety enforcement programs and increase traffic safety prioritization with law enforcement partners. The position serves as a link between agencies in Southern Minnesota and the Office of Traffic Safety. The contractor will work approximately 1,500 hours per year encouraging agencies to expand traffic enforcement programs and participate in initiatives like Toward Zero Deaths.

• Experienced sworn law enforcement peace officer (including retirees)
• Not actively employed as a licensed peace officer during contract
• Ability to travel frequently within Southern Minnesota using own vehicle
• Access to computer with Microsoft Office 365 and email
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Promote traffic safety to law enforcement agencies in Southern Minnesota
• Recruit new agencies to participate in OTS enforcement programs
• Coordinate inter-agency enforcement planning meetings
• Assist with organizing media events before major mobilizations
• Educate law enforcement on high-visibility enforcement strategies
• Attend TZD Conference and regional workshops
• Lobby agencies to report activities on national mobilizations
• Facilitate strategic planning for OTS grant activities
• Document best practices in traffic safety enforcement
• Attend county/city meetings when OTS awards equipment or grants
