Buyer seeks qualified firms to provide on-call professional materials testing and special inspection services for Yonkers Public Schools capital improvement projects and facility maintenance. Services will be requested on an as-needed basis with varying project types and values. Buyer intends to contract with more than one firm for a 36-month term with two optional 12-month renewals.

• Experience with New York State Education Department PreK-12 public schools projects
• Strong history with NYS Education Department Office of Facilities Planning
• Laboratory accreditations from AASHTO and/or NVLAP
• Participation in laboratory inspection program administered by CCRL
• Professional Engineers/Architects licensed in New York State
• Staff certifications for specific inspection disciplines

• Conduct special inspections regulated by Building Code and State Education Department
• Perform concrete testing and inspection services
• Inspect structural steel fabrication and installation
• Verify soils conditions and excavations for proper depth
• Inspect masonry construction per Level 1 and 2 specifications
• Test and inspect spray fire resistant materials (SFRM)
• Monitor wood construction and high-load diaphragms
• Inspect exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)
• Test smoke control systems and provide documentation
• Conduct water, air infiltration testing for windows and curtain walls
• Perform electrical testing including megger and thermal testing
• Inspect roofing systems using thermal imaging and moisture testing
• Maintain detailed inspection documentation and reports
• Document deficiencies and track non-conformance reports
• Conduct specialized testing for seismic resistance requirements
• Provide laboratory testing of construction materials
• Inspect fireproofing application and verify thickness/density
• Review concrete design mixes for code compliance
• Monitor precast concrete installation and prestressing tendons
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as required
