Ambulance Billing Services

Town of Wilbraham

Buyer seeks a vendor to provide ambulance billing and collection services for the Wilbraham Fire Department. The service handles approximately 1,900 ambulance transports annually with Advanced Life Support service to the paramedic level. The contract will be for one year with options for two additional one-year renewals at the Town's discretion. The contractor will be reimbursed based on percentage of billing and collections recovered.

• Five years' minimum experience with Massachusetts municipal ambulance billing
• Licensed as a collection agency under Massachusetts laws
• Experience with NEMSIS compliant EMS data file processing
• Toll-free number for Town and citizen inquiries
• Internal quality assurance program with outside annual compliance audit
• Five Massachusetts municipal contract clients minimum

• Process patient billing for approximately 1,900 annual ambulance transports
• Submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance carriers
• Provide secure electronic transfer of patient data
• Reconcile ambulance accounts on a monthly basis
• Generate detailed financial and collection reports
• Process combined BLS/ALS (two-tiered) ambulance claims
• Manage collections and follow-up with non-paying accounts
• Handle waiver requests for financial hardships
• Support credit bureau reporting for delinquent accounts
• Provide toll-free number for citizen inquiries
