Delaware Health and Social Services Division for the Visually Impaired

Buyer seeks professional services for education and orientation and mobility services to students and adults with visual impairments. The contract will be for two vendors: Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist. Successful contractors must demonstrate experience serving people who are blind, severely visually impaired, and/or have multiple disabilities. Contractors must also have knowledge of high and low-tech assistive technologies and maintain appropriate certifications.

• Delaware license and/or certification necessary to perform services
• Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification
• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist credentials

• Provide certified Teachers of the Visually Impaired services
• Provide Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist services
• Deliver education services to students with visual impairments
• Support adults with visual impairment through education services
• Provide orientation and mobility training for visually impaired individuals
• Demonstrate knowledge of high and low-tech assistive technologies
• Establish community partnerships to enhance services
• Maintain proper certification and licensure
• Provide appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation
• Develop customized learning plans for visually impaired clients
