Buyer seeks a Management Consultant to serve as Executive Director for Los Angeles Area Fire Chief's Association Regional Training Group. The consultant will provide direction and leadership for executing the strategic plan and addressing long-term regional training needs. The position reports to the LAAFCA Executive Board and oversees regional training across 29 fire departments in the greater Los Angeles area. The contract is for an initial term of five years.

• Ten years of paid professional fire service experience
• Fire service management experience with program management emphasis
• Experience developing and implementing Regional Fire Service Training
• Knowledge of CA State Fire Marshal training programs
• Understanding of Hazardous Materials programs and requirements
• Understanding of State and Federal grant process
• Experience with Joint Powers Authority organizational agreements
• Ability to collaborate with multi-agencies and diverse groups

• Provide leadership for LAAFCA Regional Training Group strategic plan implementation
• Oversee RTG staff including Intelligence Chief and Regional Training Officers
• Develop short and long-term strategies aligned with RTG mission
• Provide routine performance reports to LAAFCA Executive Board
• Advocate for regional training program with officials and stakeholders
• Provide budget recommendations to LAAFCA Executive Board
• Manage grants and ensure compliance with regulations
• Coordinate LAAFCA Mountain & Desert Conferences annually
• Facilitate incident command and terrorism response training
• Foster positive relationships with all regional stakeholders
