City of Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department

Buyer seeks proposals for new placemaking events/projects or significant enhancements to existing ones in Hampton. Projects should enhance family resiliency and improve quality of life for residents and visitors. Buyer will award up to $30,000 total among selected proposals with recipients required to provide minimum 50% match of awarded amount. Events/projects must have at least a portion free and open to the public and should ideally attract out-of-town visitors generating overnight stays.

• 6/27/2025 - Proposal Due Date
• 7/1/2025 - Project Start Date

• Experience producing similar events or projects
• Ability to provide 50% matching funds for awarded amount
• Capability to complete required permitting and compliance processes

• Create new placemaking events or significantly augment existing ones
• Design unique experiences utilizing Hampton's natural resources and history
• Provide a portion of the event/project free to the public
• Implement comprehensive marketing strategy including social media and print
• Generate overnight hotel stays for out-of-town visitors
• Provide 50% matching funds with maximum 25% from volunteer hours
• Recognize City of Hampton as funder on all promotional materials
• Submit detailed budget with specific costs and funding sources
• Complete and document project between July 1, 2025 and deadline
• Submit close-out reporting within 90 days of event/project completion
