Buyer seeks a Public Health Advisor to support the West Haven Department of Health. The advisor will provide strategic guidance in developing a Community Health Improvement Plan, agency-wide Strategic Plan, and enhance public health operations and communications. This project is funded through the Connecticut Department of Public Health Per Capita Grant Program. The contract term can extend up to three fiscal years at the buyer's discretion.

• Active physician license (M.D. or D.O.) in Connecticut
• Experience in public health administration, preferably municipal level
• Expertise in community health strategy and preventive medicine
• Ability to lead cross-sector collaboration
• Understanding of federal and state health regulations

• Lead development of Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)
• Create department-wide Strategic Plan
• Evaluate and improve policies, procedures, and communication strategies
• Provide guidance during public health emergencies
• Monitor and interpret epidemiological data
• Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations
• Support community outreach and communication efforts
• Ensure compliance with public health regulations
• Implement internal quality improvement measures
• Provide actionable guidance on emerging health threats
