Disaster Recovery Post Fire - Knob 2021 Restoration Project Phase 1
Humboldt County Resource Conservation District
Buyer seeks qualified contractors to restore post-fire habitat by removing hazardous vegetation on 42.4 acres near Willow Creek. The project requires removing standing dead trees, treating slash, and following California Forest Practice Rules under CALFIRE Exemptions. Commercial harvest activities will be conducted and an LTO-A license is required to complete the work. The project aims to reduce hazardous vegetation from the Knob 2021 wildfire footprint and increase forest health and resilience.

- Experience with post-fire hazardous vegetation removal
- Capability to conduct commercial timber harvest
- Ability to provide required insurance coverage
- Fell and yard dead trees, including hazard trees up to 24" diameter
- Remove 70% of brush vegetation down to 1" diameter
- Treat slash by piling, burning, mastication or chipping
- Load and transport merchantable logs to local mills
- Yard large woody material to designated landing locations
- Implement erosion control measures including water bars and straw mulch
- Remove four hazard trees adjacent to structure requiring crane operation
- Protect residual trees and infrastructure during operations
- Treat 42.4 acres across two separate project areas near Willow Creek
- Meet all California Forest Practice Rules requirements for CALFIRE exemptions
