Polk County Procurement and Purchasing Division

Buyer seeks pest control services for single family dwellings of qualified low-income households across Polk County. Services include extermination of common household insects, rodent control, termite treatment, and bed bug treatment. Contractor must use odorless, non-toxic treatments whenever possible and follow safe work practices. Buyer will award a one-year agreement with two one-year renewal options.

• Licensed with the State of Iowa to perform pest control services
• Registered with the State of Iowa Department of Labor
• Maintained pest control business for minimum two years in past five
• Provide five work-related references from banks, suppliers, or customers
• Provide three personal references

• Exterminate common household insects in low-income households
• Remove rodents that pose health hazards to individuals and families
• Perform termite treatment and required follow-up inspections
• Provide chemical treatment for bed bugs in different sized homes
• Use odorless, non-toxic, and non-injurious treatments whenever possible
• Follow safe work practices when other treatment methods are required
• Inform residents about any precautions to be taken during treatment
• Contact clients and schedule appointments for pest control services
• Maintain clean work sites and remove unused materials after completion
• Comply with Emergency Repair Program requirements and applicable local codes
