The selected company will work within the Treasury/Finance Departments to maintain property appraisal programs for 7,763 parcels. Services include maintaining assessment rolls, processing exemptions, representing the city in appeals, and communicating with the public on assessing issues.

  • Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) Level 4 Assessor on staff
  • Experience in municipal assessing services
  • Proficiency in BS&A/Equalizer software
  • Maintain assessment rolls for ad valorem and specific tax rolls
  • Process Principle Residence Exemptions and Property Transfer Affidavits
  • Analyze property sales to determine values and assessment adjustments
  • Update and appraise new construction to establish property assessments
  • Process Personal Property Statements with annual inspection
  • Represent City in assessment appeals to Board of Review and Tax Tribunal
  • Prepare and work with all Boards of Review in July, December, and March
  • Perform land divisions in compliance with State Land Division Act
  • Track captured values in tax capture districts
  • Process poverty exemption applications and hold annual workshops
