Buyer seeks an experienced individual to conduct evaluation services supporting the Substance Use Prevention system in Alabama. The evaluator will develop and maintain a comprehensive evaluation system to track prevention plan implementation, create and execute a state survey, and assess overall effectiveness of prevention services. Buyer requires expertise in evaluation methodologies, prevention science, and data analysis to support state prevention efforts across all 67 counties.

• Preferred Ph.D. in social science, public health, or related area
• Minimum 5 years' experience in evaluation
• Experience in evaluating substance use prevention programs preferred
• Ability to write comprehensive evaluation reports
• Proficiency with statistical software
• Knowledge of database and data systems design
• Familiarity with various evaluation techniques
• Experience evaluating complex programs

• Develop/review comprehensive evaluation system for substance use prevention services
• Assess effectiveness of prevention services implementation statewide
• Track implementation of prevention plan goals, objectives, and performance indicators
• Develop/design and implement a state survey
• Evaluate data from state survey and develop reports
• Conduct state and community level process and outcome evaluations
• Provide quarterly progress reports to Office of Prevention
• Evaluate cost-efficiency of prevention program goals
• Provide presentations to Office of Prevention Services
• Attend/facilitate relevant local, state, and national meetings
