Food Service Consultant

Buyer seeks a Food Service Management Consultant to provide oversight and administration services for their school food service program. Consultant will assist with day-to-day administration including health and safety operations. Buyer serves approximately 6,900 students across multiple schools and requires services for the 2025-2026 school year with possible extensions. The consultant will monitor the Food Service Management Company's compliance with regulations and contract requirements.

• 4/14/2025 - RFP document available
• 5/13/2025 - Proposal Due Date
• 7/1/2025 - Contract start date

• Five years experience in food services management consultation for NY public schools
• Experience with urban/high-need resource capacity districts
• Experience with districts of 5000+ students and multiple sites
• Licensed under New York State laws
• NYS Education Department licensing requirements compliance

• Review FSMC Operating Statements with documentation and invoices monthly
• Visit all school sites twice monthly to observe food service operations
• Evaluate USDA commodity foods usage in menus
• Assist with food service health and safety protocols
• Track metrics for breakfast and lunch program participation
• Attend Board of Education and administration meetings as needed
• Evaluate sanitation procedures related to food safety
• Establish clear lines of accountability in food service department
• Meet with Wellness Committee at least three times yearly
• Act as liaison between District and Food Service Management Company
