City of Topeka
Buyer seeks professional engineering services for 2025 Biennial Bridge Inspections. The project involves inspecting 101 bridges within City limits to comply with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) National Bridge Inspection Standards. Inspections must be performed by a KDOT Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Leader with data entered into the KDOT BLP Bridge Web Portal. Buyer requires development of a comprehensive inspection report with maintenance recommendations and cost estimates.

- 12/31/2025 - Submit Final Reports
- KDOT Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Leader required for all inspections.
- Perform field inspections of 101 bridges by KDOT Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Leader.
- Enter inspection data into KDOT BLP Bridge Web Portal by December 10, 2025.
- Assess bridge conditions using five-rating system from very good to very poor.
- Take photographs documenting deficiencies, changed conditions or necessary repairs.
- Update existing maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction plans with cost updates.
- Identify and prioritize maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction capital projects yearly.
- Immediately report Critical Findings to City of Topeka and KDOT.
- Provide two separate lists of maintenance projects for cleaning and physical repairs.
- Submit final report with prioritized maintenance recommendations and estimated costs.
- Follow inspection format consistent with 2019, 2021, and 2023 inspection reports.
