Buyer is seeking an experienced Professional Legal Firm to provide City Attorney services on a contractual basis. The firm will provide general municipal counsel, basic legal services, guidance on special projects, and advice to the City Council. Buyer requires one attorney to be designated as the point of contact or lead attorney. The contract will be awarded for an initial period of one year with automatic renewals.

• 5/8/2025 - Proposal Due Date
• 5/27/2025 - Interviews of short-listed firms
• 6/10/2025 - Formal selection and approval of contracts

• Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Texas
• Member in good standing with Texas Bar
• Five years experience providing legal services to Texas municipalities
• Comprehensive knowledge of municipal, finance, personnel, and employment law

• Provide legal opinions to City Council and Staff
• Review and draft ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and agreements
• Negotiate and administer contracts and resolve contractual disputes
• Advise on government operations, elections, open meetings, and public information
• Provide counsel on personnel policies and employment law compliance
• Review meeting agendas and materials for City Council
• Attend regular and special City Council meetings
• Track and inform about new State and Federal legislation
• Handle matters related to PIDs, MUDs, TIRZs, and MMDs
• Provide prosecutor services for municipal court Class C misdemeanors
