Smyth County Public Schools

Buyer seeks a licensed certified public accountant firm to audit fourteen school activity accounts and one optional food service account. The audit must comply with Virginia Department of Education regulations and generally accepted auditing principles. The contract will cover fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, with options for two additional years. • Licensed certified public accountant firm

• Audit fourteen school activity accounts
• Optional audit of one food service account
• Conduct audits according to Virginia Department of Education Regulations
• Prepare financial statements and audit reports for each school
• Submit two bound copies of audit reports by October 31, 2025
• Prepare management report on internal controls
• Provide recommendations to strengthen controls if necessary
• Provide unlimited consultation during the year

• Complete background checks for all employees working on-site
