Naval Engineering Services for Double-Ended Car Ferry Design

Buyer is seeking qualifications for naval architecture services to produce plans and specifications for a new double-ended ferry vessel. The ferry will provide service between DeTour Village, MI and Drummond Island. Buyer operates four ferry boats serving three islands in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula, transporting approximately 500,000 vehicles and 800,000 passengers annually. The new vessel must operate in extreme ice conditions and severe weather while handling peak passenger traffic and heavy vehicles.
