Services include training on program compliance, financial management, governance, and fiduciary responsibilities. The contractor will develop regular training schedules and provide on-demand technical assistance for specific property issues. Buyer oversees 132 Mitchell-Lama Housing Companies (37 cooperatives and 95 rentals) across 23 counties in New York State.

  • Knowledge of Mitchell-Lama program rules and regulations
  • Train cooperative boards on Mitchell-Lama program rules and compliance requirements
  • Provide guidance on financial management best practices for housing cooperatives
  • Teach board governance and fiduciary responsibilities to cooperative boards
  • Assist with selecting housing company counsel and property managers
  • Guide cooperative boards on conducting annual elections
  • Provide technical assistance on property-specific issues
  • Develop and deliver training modules for both virtual and in-person sessions
  • Create effective communication protocols between boards and owners
  • Advise on capital improvement planning and implementation
  • Assist with rent/carrying charge increase applications to HCR
