Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Inc.

Buyer seeks a state lobbyist for governmental affairs consulting and lobbying services in Pennsylvania. The focus is on environmental and conservation legislation, policies, and budgets affecting local streams and the Chesapeake Bay. The contract is for two years, starting January 1, 2025. The lobbyist will work with the Pennsylvania General Assembly and gubernatorial administration to advance the buyer's priorities.

  • Five years experience lobbying Pennsylvania General Assembly on environmental issues
  • Proven record of bipartisan approach to lobbying

  • Strong connections with Pennsylvania's Executive Branch and General Assembly
  • Proven success on clean water and Chesapeake Bay-related issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strengthen bipartisan relationships with key members of Pennsylvania General Assembly
  • Secure sponsors for priority legislation and budget amendments
  • Gain support from Governor's administration for legislative and funding priorities
  • Monitor relevant committee schedules and attend priority meetings
  • Review legislation related to water quality, environmental, and agricultural issues
  • Advise on grassroots advocacy activities with the General Assembly
  • Assist with legislative decision-maker trips, receptions, and events
  • Promote CBF staff testimony on priority issues at key legislative committees
  • Represent and amplify CBF's messages to General Assembly and Administration
  • Provide advice on research, comment letters, and formal correspondence
