Buyer seeks a qualified firm to develop a concept report for the Piedmont Pathway, trailhead, and greenspaces within city limits. The project aims to preserve and enhance natural areas, provide connections between parks, and identify new recreation parkland. The report will assist the buyer in planning and resourcing strategies for the pathway project, with special focus on providing recreation infrastructure south of Buford Highway.

  • Conduct environmental screening to identify historical, ecological, and archeological resources
  • Design an effective and innovative public involvement program
  • Develop concept layouts and typical sections for multi-use path segments
  • Evaluate relative feasibility of alternative trail alignments
  • Conduct focus group meetings with area stakeholders
  • Prepare GDOT Limited Scope Concept Report
  • Create implementation plan with phasing and funding sources
  • Develop illustrative renderings of proposed trail conditions
  • Evaluate traffic operations and safety in the trail corridor
  • Translate meeting content into Spanish
  • Develop alternatives analysis for trail alignments and sections
  • Identify new recreation parkland opportunities
  • Analyze potential environmental impacts and ROW estimates
  • Present findings to Mayor and City Council
  • Integrate project with existing Norcross Beaver Ruin Greenway
  • Establish connection points between parks and natural areas
